Who we are
Chichester Exterior Cleaning is run by Billy, who has been working in the exterior cleaning industry since 2009. We rebranded in 2023 and became a limited company in 2024 as the contracts and jobs grew bigger and more involved — going on the courses and getting the right certifications to guarantee every job is done safely and to the best standard possible.
We cover Chichester and the harbour villages — West Wittering, Itchenor, Bracklesham, East Wittering, Birdham and Selsey — out to Goodwood, Lavant, Boxgrove, Felpham, Bognor and Emsworth, with wider travel for commercial work and a regular monthly run up to London. Because we live and work on this coast, the places we clean are the places we know.

Why customers choose us
We’re fully insured, trained and committed to giving the best service possible. We take pride in our appearance — all staff are in branded workwear and fully DBS checked — and we treat every job as if it were our own, going above and beyond to get the best result. We always turn up on time, never have any hidden charges or fees, and we honour our prices, even if that means running at less profit than we first expected.

How we work — the right method for every surface
Different surfaces need different care. Blast everything with high pressure and you risk stripping render, cracking old roof tiles or driving water where it shouldn’t go. So we match the method to the material:
- Chemical soft washing — low-pressure cleaning with a treatment that lifts algae, mould and lichen without damaging the surface.
- Eco food-grade cleaning — safe, environmentally friendly products for sensitive sites and surroundings.
- Chemical-free steam cleaning — for delicate roofs and render where heat does the work instead of harsh chemicals or heavy pressure.
- Pure-water reach & wash and traditional window cleaning — a streak-free finish, frames and sills included.
- Low-pressure / high-heat — powerful where it’s needed while protecting the surface underneath.
- DOFF heritage-stone cleaning — the specialist superheated, low-pressure system approved for listed and historic stonework. This is a big one for us — it’s highly specialist work.
On roofs and render we follow up with a biocide treatment — we’re licensed and certified through PureSeal Services to apply it — which keeps moss and algae from coming straight back. It’s a preventative approach: an affordable, environmentally friendlier alternative to the costly building repairs that neglected moss and damp can lead to.

Trained, ticketed and fully insured
We’re IPAF 3a/3b certified for powered access — MEWPs and cherry pickers — so we can safely reach roofs, high render, gutters and tall commercial façades that a lot of companies simply aren’t ticketed or equipped to take on. We’re also working-at-height and scaffold-tower trained, first-aid trained, and provide full RAMS for commercial sites. Everything is covered by £5 million public liability insurance through Howden, so every domestic and commercial job is properly protected.
Trusted on landmark contracts
It’s part of why we’re trusted on some of the area’s most demanding sites. We hold the main exterior cleaning contract for Goodwood Racecourse — one of the South’s most prestigious racing and events estates. Our DOFF heritage work includes the landmark Hotham Park clock tower at Bognor Regis and the annual steam clean of the front entrance to Arundel’s St Nicholas Church. We keep Chichester Fire Station presentable year-round, carry out exterior cleaning for the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, handle graffiti removal for Arun District Council, and maintain the RNLI lifeboat launch ramp at Littlehampton bi-monthly with eco products and steam. Whether it’s a flagship venue, a place of worship, a public building or a family home, the standard of work is the same.
Built for the coast
Living on the coast is wonderful, but it’s hard on the outside of a home. Salt and sand carried on the sea air settle on roofs and render, and they cut the output of solar panels far faster than they would inland. We see it every week across the Witterings, Selsey and Bracklesham — and it’s a big part of why regular exterior cleaning here is genuinely worth it, not just cosmetic.
