Glass and polycarbonate roofs sit flat to the sky and shaded by the house, so they collect algae, moss and grime faster than any other surface — and once the valley gutters and the panels green over, the room below goes dim and the gutters start to back up. It is all done by gentle reach-and-wash soft washing, never high pressure, so nothing is forced past the roof bars or the seals. Restoring discoloured uPVC
Not all uPVC dirt is dirt. Grey filming is airborne grime and traffic film; green is algae feeding on the damp, salt-laden air off the sea around West Wittering, Bracklesham and Selsey; and a dull yellow cast is the surface oxidising in sun and salt. Our clean lifts all three — the grime, the algae and the oxidised film — and brings the original bright white back. It is honest cleaning, not a respray: we bring back the finish that is there rather than coating over it, so the result is your own uPVC looking as it did when it went in. On the most exposed coastal frames a regular clean keeps the white bright and stops the green and grey ever taking a real hold.
Some frames, though, have had years of sun and salt and the surface itself has oxidised — gone chalky and yellowed in a way no amount of washing will shift.
